Ben Davies gets good news as Rangers complete further tests on injury

Rangers defender Ben Davies looks set to be ready for the Scottish Premiership showdown against Motherwell on Sunday 16 October after injury complaints this week.

The summer signing complained of muscle tightness against Liverpool, but Jordan Campbell has now reported that further tests have come back positive.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst certainly needs Davies right now after Connor Goldson was forced off in the same game with what looks like a much bigger issue.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Campbell shared what he has been hearing on the defender after more tests were concluded at the end of this week.

“Hearing positive news re Davies ahead of Sunday after further tests,” he wrote.

“He’s been a positive in the last four starts. Been really composed and Rangers need him at the moment.”

Needed.

Davies has been a positive since coming in and stringing some starts together, and that needs to continue to prove that he has been money well spent.

James Sands appears to have dropped out of the picture since his sending off against Napoli for whatever reason, meaning Leon King may come in at Fir Park.

It looks as though Davies and King may be the partnership favoured while Goldson is out injured, which everything is hoping isn’t for too long, but it doesn’t look great.

Ibrox is doom and gloom right now, and the only thing that can turn our Champions League embarrassment around is by dominating domestically and hopefully taking charge of that top spot from Celtic.

Davies will be key to that, especially now that Goldson is out with a new leader needed in the heart of the defence, something that could see him really thrive going forward – fingers crossed.
