Oli Pfeiffer leaves Rangers as backlash spills over after Liverpool defeat

Backlash has spilled over this week as Rangers have seen Oli Pfeiffer quit his senior role at Ibrox after the 7-1 loss against Liverpool, according to the Scottish Daily Express.

The newspaper has confirmed on its website that the former Bears heads of partnership management, working under James Bisgrove has moved on.

Pfeiffer was pictured celebrating the 7-1 defeat in the Liverpool end somewhat unbelievably at Ibrox after the Champions League drubbing, with his exit confirmed with immediate effect.

Official club partner, Heart & Hand have already responded to the news and summed it up perfectly with many not going to shed many tears over this one.

“Hard to have any sympathy here,” they said on their official Twitter account.

Unbelievable.

This was one of those moments where you simply have to blink twice to believe it.

How on earth did Pfeiffer think it was all good to not only go to the game in the Liverpool away section but then celebrate it so clearly on social media without repercussions?

This was surely going to end in the two cutting ties no matter how it happened, either through dismissal or the senior figure packing his bags and moving on himself.

Changes have been demanded at Ibrox after the backlash spilled over due to the 7-1 result, and this is the first exit that has happened, although more may follow.

The floodgates have opened at Ibrox, and if another defeat follows at Motherwell this weekend, we could see many more exits, this time from the dug out with Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his backroom team on thin ice it seems.

This one was simply inevitable though.
