Charlie Nicholas urges Rangers to be ‘bold’ v Liverpool
Charlie Nicholas has urged Rangers to be bold when they face Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League matchday four fixture on Wednesday, 12 October.
The Gers are going through a tough time in Europe’s elite club competition where they are placed at the bottom of Group A after suffering three consecutive defeats.
Nicholas, while speaking to the Express as quoted by the Daily Record, stated that the Light Blues must at least take a point from their next match to have any chance of securing the third spot in the group.

“I think Rangers’ hopes of that parachute place will be extinguished after tomorrow’s game against Liverpool at Ibrox,” he said. “I just can’t see Giovanni van Bronchkhorst’s side getting anything from the Reds.
“With Serie A leaders Napoli and Dutch giants Ajax also in the section, there’s no doubt Rangers ended up in the group of death.
“As soon as the draw was made I felt there was only a very slight chance of finishing third at best. The Ibrox men must take at least a point tomorrow if they are to have any hopes of remaining in Europe beyond Christmas.
“Rangers will need to have a go in front of their own fans but that will just invite Jurgen Klopp’s side to pick them off. Still, they might as well be bold and lose 3-1 or 4-1 rather than be as tame as they were at Anfield last week.”

Big match
Rangers entered the campaign with a lot of hope after a more than impressive season last time around where they finished second in the league table and also ended as the runners-up in the Europa League.
This time around, they are going through a decent campaign on the domestic front where they are once again placed in the second position in the league table.
However, in Europe, it has been a horrible dream where the Gers have suffered three consecutive defeats.
The most concerning aspect for the Rangers fans will be to see how their team has failed to respond in any of the games where they conceded nine times but did not score a single in return.
Therefore, the onus will be on Giovanni van Bronckhorst to push his player and ensure that they come out all guns blazing where they will face a struggling Liverpool side who themselves are coming off the back of suffering a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal.
