James McFadden stunned live on BBC by Cammy Devlin red card for Hearts v Rangers
James McFadden was left stunned by Cammy Devlin as he was shown his marching orders for Hearts as Rangers eased to a 4-0 victory at Tynecastle.
The BBC pundit was live-on-air when Devlin decided to go charging in and stamp on the ankle of Rabbi Matondo in front of the dugouts, right being shown red.
McFadden could not believe his eyes, labelling the challenge as “sheer stupidity” with the home side already two goals down against the Bears.

Speaking live on the BBC, as shared on their blog, McFadden was stunned by the decision by Devlin as he thought Hearts were still in the game at that stage.
“There’s no need for it,” he said.
“You can’t do that – you’re putting your team down to 10 men when they’re still in this game it’s a crazy decision. That’s just sheer stupidity from Cammy Devlin.”

Stupidity.
This tackle was simply outrageous.
Matondo could have been seriously injured in this altercation and to go in like that from behind was cowardly and deserves more than just the customary three-game ban.
Devlin looked baffled by the officials’ decision, but there can be no question marks surrounding the decision, and VAR will not even be needed for incidents such as that.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst had every right to be outraged as he was, and things such as this should be kept out of the game with stricter punishments.
Rangers were cruising in a high-tempo game before that, but it made sure that ahead of the game with Liverpool, there was no need to take risks in the second half.
That is one positive to come from this alongside the three points, as we go top of the Scottish Premiership for now and avoid any injuries – it could have been much worst.
