Rangers must brace for tough fixture v Hearts – David Templeton

David Templeton believes Rangers will have a tough game when they will face Hearts on Saturday afternoon (01 October).

Both teams will face off in the matchday nine fixture of the Scottish Premiership at Tynecastle Park as domestic football finally returns after the international break.

Templeton, while speaking with Edinburgh Live, stated that the Gers are likely to have a tough outing against the home team.

“I know what it is like playing there [Tynecastle] against either side of the Old Firm,” he said.

“You get that extra buzz so Hearts will be right up for it. It will be a tough game for Rangers.”

Must win

Rangers started the season in a spectacular manner where the side secured their place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time in more than 10 years.

However, that celebration was short-lived as the side suffered three heavy defeats in the space of less than two weeks, starting with a 4-0 drubbing against Celtic in the Old Firm derby on September 3.

Even though the Gers managed to secure a win against Dundee United on September 17 which was the last matchday before the international break, the pressure is still on especially manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The 47-year-old will now have a monumental task of galvanising his players to secure all three points against Hearts, especially after Celtic’s defeat in their previous fixture which gives the side the chance to go temporarily top yet again.
