David Templeton has heaped praise on Rangers signing Tom Lawrence and believes that he will be a big player for the club in the ongoing campaign.
The 28-year-old joined the club on a free deal in the recently concluded summer transfer window after his contract expired with Derby County.
Templeton, while talking to Glasgow Live, lamented the injury picked up by the Welshman recently as he closes in on his return in the coming days.

“He’s [Lawrence] a very good player,” he said. “I thought that when he signed. I lived down in Derby so I watched a few of their games when I was down there.
“I was always impressed with him. Very good technically and on the ball, can create changes and score goals.
“I thought he was a very good signing [for Rangers] and started well. It was just unfortunate he got that injury. He will be a big player to get back. He was doing very well before that injury.”
Important player
Rangers entered the season hoping to better last campaign’s performances where they played in the final of the UEFA Europa League and won the Scottish Cup.

Last season, the Gers were found wanting after an injury to attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi as they had no replacement for the 23-year-old.
Signing someone like Lawrence was a step in this direction and during his early days, he was very instrumental for the side where he scored three times and provided a couple of assists in just nine appearances across all competitions [Transfermarkt].
Those performances as a testament to why he is so highly rated in the football community and many believe that it was his injury which started the slide in form of the Rangers in the ongoing campaign. After having some poor, Rangers fans will be hoping that their newly-signed player will return to full fitness as soon as possible so that he can contribute to the team’s success.
