Rangers could secure permanent deal for James Sands
Rangers could secure a permanent deal for defender James Sands in the summer, as per Rangers Review.
Sands joined in the January transfer window on an 18-month loan deal, where the Bears have an option to buy the player, who can also play as a midfielder.
The Bears may refuse to sign him, but indications are high that he could be given an extended deal, after he has majorly improved.

Contracts
As many as 12 first-team players in the current squad are in the final years of their contract, and that is something Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to sort out.
Sands has done well since joining the club, and he has played in both defensive midfield positions and in central defence.
In the absence of John Souttar, he has played alongside Connor Goldson at the back.

His versatility is a big asset for the club, and he has proved himself to be a utility player. He is only 22, and there is plenty of room for his development.
It remains to be seen whether he will be signed permanently in the summer along with Malik Tillman.
In both cases, Rangers have an option to sign those two players on a permanent deal.
While the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are facing uncertain futures, it can be said that Van Bronckhorst probably sees the player as a part of his long-term plans.
