Tam McManus takes swipe at Rangers after Hibs footage emerges

Tam McManus has taken a swipe at Rangers after footage emerges from the 2004 CIS Insurance Cup semi-final in which Hibs side won on penalties.

While they may have gone on to lose the final to Livingston, it did not stop their former striker from taking a pop at the 55-time champions.

He claimed that they had 25 times the wage bills before EBTs – employee benefit trust money that can be wiped off.

McManus wrote on Twitter, “Surprised we could even compete that night when Rangers had about 25 times the *wage bill. But sometimes if you play out your skin you can get a result.

“*25 times before EBTs.”

Bitter

If after 18 years, McManus is bragging about beating Rangers in a game that did not even see them lifting the trophy, he clearly lets them live rent-free in his head.

He’s making fun of one of the most successful football teams of all time when he never won a single trophy throughout his career.

The game has always been this way and clubs that have been successful have gone on to have bigger wage bills and better squads.

Had he been good enough and poached by one of the big clubs, he would never have been complaining about these disparities.

However, it seems like his career peaked in that semi-final and he probably remembers scoring that penalty as the highlight of his career.

While he can be happy living in the past, Rangers fans will enjoy the present where they’re in the Champions League and are looking to win the league title for the 56th time.

In other Rangers news, the BBC never seem to learn their lessons as they persist with their embarrassing anti-Rangers agenda.
