Marco Negri says Rangers winger Ryan Kent could make difference v Napoli

Marco Negri has suggested that Rangers will be aggressive against Napoli when the two sides will meet on Wednesday in the Champions League on Wednesday (14 September) at Ibrox.

The former Gers player said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport that Ryan Kent could make a big difference in the game for the Gers.

Negri also adds that the full-backs will have to play a big role, with the likes of James Tavernier and Borna Barisic will have to be on top of their games.

“Rangers are in a very delicate period. They lost the Old Firm firmly, 4-0, and it was a huge psychological blow,” said Negri, as quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Ibrox is the twelfth man. The players of Napoli could suffer. For me the duel between the full-backs Tavernier and Barisic, who push a lot, against the wings of Napoli.

“And Di Lorenzo will have to be careful of Kent, the player who can make the difference: he makes one on one, goes to the shot, has pace and technique. And Morelos: he has stayed out this early season, but there in front of him you can not give up.”

Ibrox factor

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is under a lot of pressure after the Gers lost two back-to-back big games.

Winning or losing are part of the game, but what has been really worrying is the manner of the defeats.

They conceded eight goals in their last two games and the players didn’t put up a fight at all.

Napoli are in great form at the moment, and they are in full confidence after they defeated Liverpool 4-1 in their previous Champions League game.

Rangers

The pressure is on the Gers, but Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to find a solution. They need to regroup and put up a strong performance.

Under the Dutchman, the team reached the finals of the Europa League last season. They possess the quality to beat any side on their day, especially at Ibrox.

Kent has been very poor in recent games, while Van Bronckhorst hasn’t used Alfredo Morelos enough. The duo could play a big role in the midweek.
