Sir Kenny Dalglish shares view on Rangers loss v Ajax
Sir Kenny Dalglish has suggested that Rangers need to improve in their next European games after they lost 4-0 against Ajax.
The Scotland legend feels that after Rangers conceded the second goal, it was no way back for them.
It took a deflection off James Sands, and Dalglish has branded it as an “unfortunate” moment.

“Giovanni van Bronckhorst will demand better from his players at home to Napoli on Tuesday after their back-to-back 4-0 defeats,” wrote Dalglish in his column for The Sunday Post (11 September, page 78).
“Rangers never came close to taking the lead but they were unfortunate to concede a second when James Sands deflected a Steven Berghuis shot into his own net. That ended the match in Amsterdam as a contest.
“Overall, there is much improvement to be had from several British sides, and let’s hope they can step up and achieve it.”
Pressure
Van Bronckhorst is under a lot of pressure at the moment.
He did an incredible job to take the Gers to the group stages of the Champions League. People must not forget that he took this side to the final of the Europa League last season as well.
The gulf in quality between the two teams was visible, but what really was really worrying was that the effort was missing from his players, especially in the first half.
They simply chased shadows and didn’t provide any resistance.

However, the 4-0 defeat against Celtic is not acceptable. Rangers are already five points behind Celtic, and they need to be consistent in their approach.
It is his job to get responses from his players. They have to go on a winning run domestically, including a strong performance against Aberdeen in their next game.
Having said that, the Rangers board also need to take a share of the blame for the current mess. They didn’t back him properly in the market, and the squad is weakened as a result.
In other Rangers news, the BBC never seem to learn their lessons as they persist with their embarrassing anti-Rangers agenda.
