Ross Wilson must be put forward to answer questions after Rangers embarrassments

Rangers must throw Ross Wilson forward to explain everything to do with his transfer policy this summer, according to Ewan Murray.

The Guardian journalist insists that his retainment and recruitment issues must be addressed after two embarrassing defeats in the space of one week.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could be thrown under the bus after 4-0 defeats at Celtic and Ajax, but it is Wilson where some of the blame is being aimed already.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Murray shared what must be done in the coming days as the fallout of this week continues at Ibrox.

“Ross Wilson is front of house when Rangers sign – certain – players, win a trophy or qualify for the Champions League,” he wrote.

“Hope Rangers put him forward to properly explain retainment and recruitment issues that have resulted in two embarrassments in five days.”

Embarrassing.

Out of nowhere this week, some deep-rooted issues have come to light and it is not good news for anyone.

It has become more clear that the summer transfer window was simply papering over many cracks that have appeared from selling players.

Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey left the club to move on, but they weren’t replaced with the right players, with no fresh faces in those areas consistently playing or showing they have what it takes to succeed.

With those two leaving and money in the bank from the Europa League and Champions League, there was no need to sell, and there was big money ready to spend.

Either way, they were sold and no real big money was spent.

That isn’t good enough, and for all, we have praised Wilson in recent months, no one is bulletproof to criticism, and his door is being knocked down for explanations.

All eyes are on that Ibrox boardroom.
