Ibrox boardroom talks to determine future of Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers

Talks in the Ibrox boardroom will determine the fate of Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, according to Chris Jack.

After humiliating defeats to Ajax and Celtic in a matter of days, the pressure is rising in Glasgow with more important games to come in all competitions.

Jack admitted that it remains to be seen if Van Bronckhorst is the man to take the club forward, but question marks are also surrounding the hierarcy after a quiet end to the transfer window.

Writing in his latest column for the Glasgow Evening Times, Jack shared the latest on matters at Ibrox with many questions remaining unanswered right now.

“It remains to be seen if Van Bronckhorst will be the man to take them on those next steps and his future as manager is now very much up for discussion,” he wrote.

“Talks inside the Ibrox boardroom will determine his fate but the decision makers should look themselves in the mirror as well and question if they are the right men to lead Rangers.

“The situation cannot simply focus on Van Bronckhorst and there are issues at all levels which need addressed before Rangers operate like a Champions League club.”

Embarrassing.

Van Bronckhorst has been left up the creek with no paddle right now.

The squad put together is simply not good enough, with all thirds of the park simply not good enough to replicate the successes of the past two years.

Douglas Park has no excuses either, with money flowing into the club more than ever before due to our success in the Europa League, reaching the Champions League and then selling players too.

The defence right now is embarrassing, with James Sands being forced to play there and don’t get us started on the non-existent midfield and attack.

Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey were both sold and not replaced with players who can take what they did forward, so they left two huge holes, and Alfredo Morelos’ decision to stop caring has hit us even harder.

Big questions need to be asked, but it isn’t just Van Bronckhorst who needs to answer, the problems are starting much higher up right now in Govan.
