Rangers Supporters Association demand meeting with Ibrox hierarchy
The Rangers Supporters Association are set to write to the club to raise concerns over the club’s summer activity after their 4-0 Old Firm defeat against Celtic.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side put in an abject first-half display which saw The Hoops put the game out of sight before the interval.
The RSA represents, which represents 145 associations around the world, has subsequently released a statement regarding Rangers’ current position.
The RSA wrote (via Twitter, 4 September): “The RSA are concerned with not just the result today but the running of our club over the last year.
“Development and vision of the club starts with the board and should feed down through the recruitment, players and staff.
“This has not been the case and we find ourselves in a position where those in charge do not want to engage with the fans or fans groups.
“We will be writing to Rangers to demand a meeting to find a solution to this mismanagement of our club and in particular where the financial gains in the last year are being.”
More investment
It’s completely justified for questions to be asked of Rangers’ board with the Old Firm defeat potentially a watershed moment.
After reaching the Europa League final, the Ibrox faithful were probably expecting an exciting summer of recruitment on the pitch, particularly if the club cashed in on some of their better assets.
With Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo both securing big-money moves away, there should’ve been an expectation that the money they received for the duo would be invested back into van Bronckhorst’s squad.

Ultimately, the Old Firm defeat highlighted that Rangers have gone backwards after their fine 2021/22 season.
The club could’ve been reluctant to invest due to the uncertainty surrounding their Champions League status.
However, the record transfer fee they received for Bassey had to be invested back into the squad to maintain the Gers’ upward trajectory in recent years.
Where that transfer fee has gone is certainly a question that fans have the right to ask about.
The board would be wise to respond and offer an open and honest assessment of what has gone on behind the scenes this summer.
In other Rangers news, the BBC never seem to learn their lessons as they persist with their embarrassing anti-Rangers agenda.
