Rangers response to Kyle Fox simply inexplicable – Keith Jackson

Keith Jackson believes that Rangers have taken the inexplicable stance to sue Kyle Fox after the promise of big investment at Ibrox.

The American investor had made a written pledge to pump £75million into Ibrox over five years as she pushes for a 25% stake in the Glasgow giants.

Jackson could not believe that instead of accepting, Rangers chose to sue Fox over the use of the club badge, even if there should be a natural sense of caution.

Writing in his latest column for the Daily Record, Jackson simply could not believe his eyes that the club have gone down this route.

“So with all this in mind, it’s pretty remarkable the embattled Ibrox hierarchy have taken such a hostile position where a potential new American investor is concerned.

“Kyle Fox has made a written pledge to pump £75million of cash into the vaults over a five-year period if she is successful in acquiring a 25 per cent stake in the club.

“But rather than embrace this potential gift horse, Rangers have strangely chosen to sue her in a Miami court. This approach appears to be an inexplicable stance even if there is a natural sense of caution around would-be investors given some of the chancers who have sauntered up and down the marble staircase over the past decade or so.”

Inexplicable?

Given the events of the past week, it would appear so.

First of all, after a summer of huge windfalls from the transfer window and the Champions League, Rangers made the decision to spend zero money on deadline day.

That would be fair enough if Giovanni van Bronckhorst was getting the best tune out of his current squad after losing numerous key first-team members.

It certainly hasn’t been going that way though, and the 4-0 thrashing away at Celtic just compounded our huge issues ahead of the trip to Amsterdam this week.

So, what answers will we be given? It appears none.

This all comes in the same week where the club has also been placed on the UEFA watchlist for FFP compliance, so added investment being waved away just appears strange.

Let’s hope we don’t live to regret this one.
