National newspaper Rangers player ratings v Celtic: Glen Kamara poor
Rangers produced a horrible performance as they were humiliated 4-0 by archrivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership clash at Ibrox on Saturday (3 September).
The Sunday Mail (4 September, page 69) has delivered the player ratings for Rangers, and the Bears fans probably won’t complain.
Three players have got 5/10, and that’s the highest. Glen Kamara gets the lowest mark with 3/10 only.

The Sunday Mail wasn’t particularly impressed with James Sands. They wrote: “Named at centre-back and endured a nightmare outing as he was unable to get to grips with the Celtic attack. Was unable to distribute properly under the intense strain and exposed.”
Horrible
Kamara got the lowest point and they were absolutely right. It was a shocking performance from him, and Van Bronckhorst did the right thing by taking him off.
Ryan Kent was another poor performer. He was atrocious for the first goal, and apart from a few crafty skills, he didn’t come up with any end products.
It was also painful to see James Tavernier playing so badly. He is an epitome of consistency for the club, but he found it hard to exert his influence in the game.

Questions need to be asked about selection methods. In the summer, Rangers lost Calvin Bassey, and the club spent money to bolster the defensive areas.
And yet, it seems like Van Brockhorst doesn’t have any proper centre-back pairing. Conor Goldson needs a stable partner, and James Sands is definitely not an answer, especially in big games.
The Bears signed Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz but they have failed to make an impact. John Souttar has also struggled and he is out injured.
Rangers have done extremely well in Europe, but they need to tighten their grip in the league.
In other Rangers news, the BBC never seem to learn their lessons as they persist with their embarrassing anti-Rangers agenda.
