Kenny Miller reacts to uncertainty on Rangers future of Alfredo Morelos
By Isabel Crofts.
Former Rangers forward Kenny Miller has weighed in on the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Alfredo Morelos’ future at the club.
As deadline day approaches on September 1, there have been rumours regarding Morelos and whether or not he will remain a Rangers player by the end of the transfer window.
This comes after Giovanni van Bronckhorst made the decision to drop the striker entirely from the Scottish side’s crucial clash against PSV Eindhoven to secure their place in the Champions League this season.

The Colombian had just received a red card in the Scottish Premiership when he came on as a substitute and committed violent conduct, causing his side to go down to nine men and proceed to concede a late equaliser at Easter Road.
Van Bronckhorst is also reportedly concerned at the forward’s attitude and fitness, yet Miller is convinced Morelos will be able to turn the situation around and regain the trust of the Dutch coach.
Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: “The ball is entirely in Alfredo’s court. He can get back in based on the choices he makes.
“I’d be surprised if he left for a couple of reasons. First, obviously, he’s just coming back from an injury and he’s not match-fit. He’s not the best version of himself so I’d be surprised if someone would take him at this point.
“But secondly – and most importantly – I still believe he has a big part to play for Rangers.”
The Scotsman then commended Morelos’ history at the club, adding: “You just need to look at Alfredo’s record over the last five years to see what he brings to the team.
“You could spend £10 million on a striker and there are no guarantees he’d come in and do the job that we know Alfredo can do.”

Should he stay or should he go?
It’s unfortunate to see the South-American’s demise at the club recently, as he has the potential to be regarded as a Rangers legend if he was to finish his career in Scotland on positive terms.
He was the side’s top goal scorer for three consecutive seasons from 2017-2020, as well as across the 2021/2022 campaign, as well as being the team’s all-time European top scorer.
Morelos has netted over 10 goals in every season since joining Rangers and has shown his prolific ability on the pitch countless times.
Miller is right, this is a real headscratcher for not only the player but the club too.
There is no chance that anyone will cough up the cash that the Bears will be looking for, with eight figures potentially needed for a player currently dropped and overweight claims going around.
The fact is that everyone knows as soon as Morelos comes back, and it could be on Tuesday against Queen of the South, he will score so there lays the dilemma – stick or twist?
