Rangers full-back Mateusz Zukowski set to join Lech Poznan

Rangers full-back Mateusz Zukowski is set to join Lech Poznan, as per The Athletic.

Jordan Campbell reports for the website on 29 August that the 20-year-old right-back is all set to leave the club.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has decided to promote young Adam Devine to play as a back-up option for club skipper James Tavernier.

Zukowski dropped down the pecking order at the club behind Devine, and the club have taken a bold decision to let him go, and further his career elsewhere.

He will now undergo a medical in Poland before the deal is completed.

The Bears are ready to discuss Devine’s future this week, and they could offer him a long-term deal.

Next Patterson?

After Rangers secured their passage to the Champions League group stages, it was speculated that the Bears could delve into the market to sign another right-back.

The Gers have money to spend, and Van Bronckhorst should look to bring at least one more quality player before the window closes.

However, it seems, that the club have carried on the tradition of keeping faith in their young academy talents, and the Dutchman wants to give Devine the chance to step up.

Rangers Giovanni van Bronckhorst

The youngster is a product of the club’s academy. He has a contract at the club until next summer, and Rangers are looking to offer him a fresh new deal.

Van Bronckhorst has shown a great desire to work with young talents. The likes of Leon King and Alex Lowry have stepped up in recent months, and Devine is in line to follow their steps.

Rangers sold Nathan Patterson to Everton on a big-money deal, and there is a feeling that Devine can be as good as the Scottish defender.

In other Rangers news, the BBC never seem to learn their lessons as they persist with their embarrassing anti-Rangers agenda.
