Standard Liege eager to resolve Nicolas Raskin future, Rangers could have leeway for major transfer
Standard Liege are eager to resolve the future of Nicolas Raskin before the transfer deadline, with Rangers ready to move, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported in its print edition [26 August, pg. 85] that a deal could go under £4.5million with the Bears considering a last-gasp move.
Raskin is in the final 12 months of his current deal and there could be some leeway in talks given that fragile situation that makes him available this week.

Sharing their take on the potential new transfer, the Scottish Daily Mail insisted that there could be a big change in the coming days.
“Rangers are showing interest in Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin as they consider strengthening their squad ahead of the Champions League group stage,” they wrote.
“Capped at Under-21s level, he is valued at around £4.5million. However, there could be leeway for negotiation in any potential deal as Standard are eager to resolve Raskin’s future before the window closes.”

Get it done.
Raskin wants out, Rangers want him and Standard want this resolving ASAP.
This means that all routes are leading to one outcome, and it should be made relatively simple by all three parties before the window slams shut on Thursday [01 September].
The young Belgian is ready for the next step of his career and moving to Glasgow to shine domestically and in the Champions League is something that clearly appeals.
With leeway expected to be allowed in negotiations, we could see that £4.5million price tag drop dramatically in the coming hours and Ross Wilson will be pushing for that.
Rangers could pay that fee easily, but with Raskin entering the final year of his deal this season, why wouldn’t the Bears try and use that to their advantage?
This is brilliant negotiating, and it could lead to a bargain transfer as we look to put that Champions League money to good use – bring it on.
