Rangers ready immediate move for new defender as injuries already plaguing John Souttar
Rangers are readying an immediate move to sign another defender after qualifying for the Champions League this week, according to the Fourth Official.
The online source has reported that the Bears are very impressed with James Sands after his brilliant start to the season, but are concerned by John Souttar.
Another new signing, Souttar has already been plagued with injuries and the issues within the defence are there ready to be solved by another new signing.

Writing on their official Patreon page, The Fourth Official shared surprise plans which may take place across the next seven days.
“Lastly, while everyone at Rangers is really impressed with Sands and the impact he has made, there’s a desire to get another centre half in,” they wrote.
“With the issues plaguing Souttar, that’s being thought of as the safe bet. While the conversations were had before yesterday’s game, there cannot be any doubt that this has to be a priority. As good as yesterday’s clean sheet was, and it was impressive, there are some real issues with this defence and it needs to be resolved.
“Most of the conversations had were obviously before yesterday, but these plans were in motion to implement immediately if Rangers qualified for the Champions League.”

New Face.
The emergence of Sands has been like a new signing.
It was a slow start for the American last season trying to make his name in midfield, but dropping back into the heart of defence alongside Connor Goldson has seen him come to life.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will not want to hold him, Souttar or Ben Davies back by bringing in a new face who could halt the progression forward, but the depth is key.
Adding another face in defence with that Champions League may not be the main priority, with other areas needing strengthening like midfield and potentially even another striker.
They would be more desperately needed right now, and Van Bronckhorst will know that, especially after all of the drama this week regarding Alfredo Morelos.
With less than one week to go in the window now, all eyes will be on Ibrox and new faces – bring it on.
