Rangers official partner exasperated as Alex Lowry ‘assault’ footage emerges

Heart and Hand have been seen fuming on Twitter after footage has emerged of the challenge on Rangers youngster Alex Lowry.

The club’s official partner labelled the incident an “assault” as the player had to be stretchered off after scoring a hat-trick for the B team against Dumbarton on Tuesday night.

Ally Love was the player who appeared to be taking out his frustration as he absolutely lashed onto the 19-year-old and that certainly had an impact on him.

Via Twitter, Heart and Hand wrote, “This is the assault on Alex Lowry and it IS an assault. A cowardly, deliberate attempt to injure a teenager because he gave him the runaround. Absolutely vile.”

Shocking

The fact that this happened when the game was already done and dusted makes it all the more shocking.

Oftentimes, these kinds of tackles are thrown about when two teams are chasing the game and tempers flare.

Here, Love just wants to avoid humiliation after being done by a bit of trickery and he’s completely clobbered the player.

Lowry looked like he was getting back to full fitness and challenging for a place in the first team but has to now deal with this setback.

We’re unsure how long this will keep him out but leaving on a stretcher is never a good sign for any player.

Injury aside, it was good to see Lowry in action as he combined well for a lot of goals and find his name on the scoresheet three times.

We wish him a speedy recovery.

In other Rangers news, Celtic and the Gers are at loggerheads over a record-breaking SPFL midfielder and a bid for him has already been tabled.
