Predicted Rangers starting XI v PSV Eindhoven in crunch Champions League showdown

Rangers travel to PSV Eindhoven this week knowing that they need to step up massively if they are to qualify for the Champions League this season.

The tie is sitting level after th first leg at Ibrox which finished 2-2 last week, with Antonio Colak and Tom Lawrence getting the goals despite conceding two sloppy ones.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be considering changes after the lacklustre performance at Hibernian over the weekend, where we finished with nine men.

Jon McLaughlin will start in goal once again, with it looking as though Alan McGregor will get little chance to show himself this season in what could be his final year in 2023.

The back four was solid enough at Hibernian and defended with their backs against the wall, so James Sands and Connor Goldson will continue as that central pair again in Holland.

James Tavernier and Borna Barisic will also get the nod at full-back with their attacking output likely important with one goal needed at this moment.

John Lundstram may have picked up that red card at Easter Road, but he will be fine to play in Europe and will take his spot with Ryan Jack dropping out after his slow afternoon.

Rangers

Steven Davis will come into that midfield three with his experience in these huge games throughout his career desperately needed, both on and off the ball.

Joining him from the bench will be Malik Tillman, he did start the first leg but was rested completely over the weekend and should come in to offer that much-needed threat.

Tom Lawrence and Ryan Kent will provide the threat from out wide as Rabbi Matondo is dropped, with their directness and set-piece ability combined enough for PSV to be fearful of them both.

Alfredo Morelos could start, but he won’t be rewarded for his joke of an outing at Hibernian, meaning Colak will keep his spot with his poaching ability hopefully a real weapon.

Here’s how the Bears will line up…

In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson now has names lined up just in case Alfredo Morelos seals his exit this summer
