Rangers like Midtjylland midfielder Evander but are put off by potential transfer fee
Rangers do like Brazilian midfielder Evander but are concerned about the potential transfer fee that FC Midtjylland could demand according to Football Scotland.
Football Scotland reported on Friday 19 August that due to the 24-year-old having three years left on his current deal at the Danish club, they could demand an extortionate fee for his services.
It’s understood that only a long-term injury or high-profile exit from Ibrox would see Giovanni van Bronckhorst delve back into the summer market.
Some talent
It’s good to see Rangers linked with a player of Evander’s quality with the Brazilian midfielder scoring 17 times in all competitions in the 2021/22 season.
A player of his calibre would be a statement signing from the club with the 24-year-old heading into the prime of his career.
However, considering the numbers he managed in the 2021/22 season, the Danish side are well within their rights to demand a large fee, considering the time he has left on his contract.

This could well be a move that van Bronckhorst and the club hierarchy could revisit in the future when his contract enters its final two years.
Whether the Brazilian would actually be a priority for the Rangers boss is up for debate with Tom Lawrence, Malik Tillman and Ryan Kent all providing a threat from midfield for the Gers so far this season.
However, if there was a high-profile exit from Ibrox, such as Kent, for example, it would not be a surprise to see the Rangers boss ramp up his pursuit of the Midtjylland attacking midfielder.
He would be an exciting signing for the Gers, but at present, the Ibrox faithful shouldn’t hold out much hope.
