Antonio Colak has enjoyed a stellar start to his Rangers career despite many doubting his goal-scoring prowess.
When the Croatia international was linked with a move to Ibrox, it was hard to get excited over the prospect of him leading the line.
That’s possibly because he managed to score just three goals since joining PAOK and did not really take the league by storm.
For Rangers, a striker has to score goals on there regular as that’s what Alfredo Morelos has made a name for doing.
However, the Colombian, despite being popular among the Gers faithful, has flirted with an exit over the past few windows, and he may get his wish this time, but not for reasons he would have though.
Having seen Colak walk through the door would not have put too much pressure on Morelos – who was injured at the time.
But despite returning to full fitness, he’s not got his place in the eleven narrowed down because of how good the 28-year-old has been.
He’s already bagged four goals in six matches in all competitions which include the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
What Morelos was known to do, Colak is already managing to do, despite being at the club for only two months.
In July, Giovanni van Bronckhorst claimed that contract talks were positive with the Colombian but he may not want to stay if he’s being forced to play second fiddle to the Croatian as he’s played just 49 minutes in the league thus far.
Colak’s form may lead to Morelos’ representatives putting him on the shop window and if the player is satisfied with the calibre of club keen on securing his services, he could be out of the club this month.
Only time will tell whether or not the Colombian will fight to win back his place in the team.
