John Lundstram thrilled by Rangers training regime, shares view on new signings

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram is impressed with the training under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and has described it as “high quality” in terms of intensity.

The Bears have made some brilliant signings this summer, and some of them have made a strong impression already.

Lundstram has backed the new players to get even better, saying they have made a “massive” contribution last week.

“The quality of our squad is amazing,” said Lundstram, as quoted by The Scottish Sun.

“People coming on the pitch could easily start the game. Loads of credit to the squad that the manager has put together that we can strengthen rather than weaken when we make substitutions.

“Training is really high quality now, intensity wise. There are a lot of leaders in the group now as well.

“It will stand us in good stead. The new signings have all been first class. They have all stepped up to the mark and contributed in a massive way this week.”

Big game

New signings Malik Tillman and Antonio Colak scored in the last match against St Johnstone, while another new addition Tom Lawrence opened his scoring account as well.

Tillman, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich, has been outstanding so far, and he has made quite an impact.

Colak has also scored in his last two games, and he is expected to play a huge role this season.

Rangers will face PSV Eindhoven in their next game, and a win over the two-legged tie will result in a £40million windfall alongside Europe’s elite.

The Bears have been superb at Ibrox, especially in European games. Last season, they earned some famous wins at this iconic venue, and in the last European game, they defeated Union Saint-Gilloise to win 3-2 on the aggregate.

However, PSV are a strong side in Europe. It will be a tough game, overall, but the Gers should be able to win the tie if they take a handsome lead in the first leg.

In other Rangers news, Celtic and the Gers are at loggerheads over a record-breaking SPFL midfielder and a bid for him has already been tabled.
