Rangers showed ‘unbelievable resilience’ in 3-0 win v Union Saint-Gilloise – Jason Cundy
Rangers showed “unbelievable resilience” in their 3-0 victory over Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise at Ibrox on Tuesday night, according to talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy.
The Gers overcame a 2-0 first leg deficit to advance to the next round where a victory will see the club qualify for the Champions league.
Cundy claims that the player’s mentality was put to the test and they passed with flying colours to progress to the next round.
Cundy said on talkSPORT’s Sports Bar: “It looked light it was going to be a tough evening’s work because but for that ridiculous handball just before half-time, I couldn’t see where you were scoring.
“That goal completely changed the complex of the tie and Rangers showed unbelievable resilience to win the game.”
Huge win for the Gers
The win is a huge victory for the Gers as they demonstrated their perseverance and never-say-die attitude yet again in Europe.
The performance was a much-improved showing compared to the drab performance they gave against the Belgians in their defeat in the first round.
Just like in the first leg, American international midfielder Malik Tillman was mightily impressive throughout the match and was a bright point for the Gers all evening.

He combined well with Tavernier on the right-hand side, showed some great moments on the ball and his emphatic header to seal the win was the icing on the cake and just what his performance deserved.
Tom Lawrence, John Lundstram, and Antonio Colak were also impressive throughout the match, Lundstram in particular who produced a solid performance in the heart of midfield.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team will face PSV Eindhoven in the next round, and if they defeat them across two legs they will qualify for the Champions League this season.
In other Rangers news, Alfredo Morelos has attracted interest from Mexican side Cruz Azul.
