We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Rangers could have secured more leverage in the Hong Kong market after officially appointing George Taylor as a Director.
The Finance Expert admits that bringing in fresh faces will bring new ideas to the Ibrox boardroom, potentially bringing more success to the Bears.
It comes after Rangers updated their Companies House documents to make Taylor’s appointment official, despite him being based in Asia.
“Absolutely,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“New face, new ideas to freshen things up a little bit, he’s obviously very wealthy as well and very successful, and that can only help.
“When you bring that experience in, that will strengthen the board at Rangers. The Hong Kong angle is interesting as well, does that give you a bit of leverage in a different market?
“At least that experience counts for something, I just think that new ideas can only help so he brings a good track record with him as well.”
Douglas Park is always looking to strengthen the team around him, and it looks as though he is on to a real winner with this one after it was all confirmed.
Taylor is known to be Rangers mad, and has invested in the club prior to this appointment back in 2014, alongside Park and also George Letham.
They were the Three Bears consortium, with Taylor, who has also claimed before that the club should be run by the fans eventually after years of hurt.
It will be interesting to see how much this changes in the coming months and years, with fresh ideas and new challenges surely set to come our way.
