Rangers confirmed XI v USG in Champions League qualifier

Giovanni van Bronckhorst named in Rangers starting eleven to take on USG in the Champions League qualifier on Tuesday night.

After starting their domestic campaign with a victory, Gers will now look to get the ball rolling in Europe and qualify for the continent’s elite competition.

New signings Antonio Colak, Rabbi Matondo and Mallik Tilman have been handed their European debuts with Gers and will be looking to make an impact.

Must win

Last season was a learning lesson and starting the season with a loss in the Champions League qualifier and set the ball rolling incorrectly.

It led to their league form also taking a hit and they eventually did not recover and ended up losing the title by a significant margin to Celtic.

Now it’s a good chance for the likes of Tillman, Matondo and Colak to show why they were signed in the summer.

Ridvan Yilmaz has been made available but is not named in the starting eleven but could come on in the second half.

There’s a good chance that we could see Glen Kamara playing in a more advanced position and we’ll be eagerly awaiting how they line up.

There are no excuses for not getting the victory here even though it’s away from home and hopefully, take a decent lead home.

In other Rangers news, Celtic and the Gers are at loggerheads over a record-breaking SPFL midfielder and a bid for him has already been tabled.
