Jamie O'Hara raves about Ryan Kent after Rangers win v Livingston

Rangers came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory in their opening match of the brand new Scottish Premiership season against Livingston.

The Gers struggled badly in the first half and went into the break with a 1-0 deficit. However, two quick goals in the second half turned it around for them.

Scott Arfield got the equaliser after brilliant work from Ryan Kent, while James Tavernier got the winning goal with a sensational free-kick.

TalkSPORT pundit, Jamie O’Hara was full of praise for Kent on Twitter (30 July). He wrote: “Ryan Kent is a baller.”

Brilliant start

Giovanni van Bronckhorst stated the importance of making a winning start to the campaign, and they got exactly that.

The Dutchman won’t be happy with the effort in the first half, but there was a marked improvement after the break.

The double substitution, bringing in two attacking midfielders, has paid dividends for the Gers.

Kent as usual was superb in the second half. He chopped back inside down the left flank and whizzed in a cross for Arfield to nod home.

Moments later, Tavernier curled in a superb free-kick as Rangers sealed all three points.

Malik Tillman, who came on as a substitute, impressed heavily in the opening game.

There were concerns over the future of Kent, who has only a year remaining on his present contract. However, it seems it has not affected his performance at all.

The Bears should look to tie him down on a new contract immediately.
