Andy Walker savages Tom Lawrence in Rangers showdown v Livingston
Andy Walker has taken aim at Rangers attacker Tom Lawrence in the Scottish Premiership opener against Livingston on Saturday afternoon.
The Welsh international started centrally behind another new signing Antonio Colak but failed to make much of an impact in that role.
Lawrence smashed a couple of shots high and wide after patient build-up play, something that Walker was clearly not impressed with what he saw.
Speaking live on Sky Sports coverage of the clash [30 July], Walker was not impressed with the new summer arrival at the Tony Macaroni.
“That’s a real waste,” he said.
“Knocking it about with real patience but he absolutely loses it with the power in the shot.”

Not good enough?
We have all seen that Lawrence is capable of the spectacular, but on a pitch as bad as Livingston’s, it may have best to avoid these kind of attempts.
The long-range efforts were nothing short of shocking, and it wasn’t the best afternoon for the Welshman on his Scottish football bow.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will want more moving forward, but hopefully, the little glimpses in the final third can keep improving each week with bigger roles.
Walker is known to go a little over the top with his comments, but these were a waste, and the lesson learned can be that sometimes it takes many more passes to break through defences such as these.
Lawrence will get better with each game, that is guaranteed, and we can’t for him to rifle one of these efforts into the top corner to shut others up.
