Ibrox exit for Glenn Middleton could make room for further Rangers arrivals
Glenn Middleton is set to join Dundee United on a permanent deal and that could help pave the way for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to add to his Rangers squad.
According to the Daily Record Sport live blog the winger is set to complete a move to Tannadice on a three-year contract.
It’s been a busy few weeks on the transfer front for Rangers with a number of players departing Ibrox.
Josh McPake, Jake Hastie and the more high-profile departure of Calvin Bassey have been followed by Middleton out of Ibrox.
It had been revealed by Rangers Review journalist Joshua Barrie, who reported the Dutchman’s words on Twitter (23 July) that the Gers summer business was likely concluded after the arrival of Ridvan Yilmaz from Besiktas.
However, there have since been departures at Ibrox and that could well open the door for van Bronckhorst to enter the market once again.
The Daily Record reported in its print edition [25 July, pg. 49] although Yilmaz is likely the last addition, it is not out of the question for van Bronckhorst to make an eight signing.
Seeing as departures have now occurred and that the Gers have a fairly healthy transfer kitty after the departure of Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey, the Gers should certainly be looking to delve back into the market.
The club have done some excellent business over the summer, but it shouldn’t stop there.
They have to build on the immense success of last season and not only match Celtic on a domestic level but completely overshadow them.
Let’s hope that after the recent Ibrox departures, the club look to add a couple more faces to van Bronckhorsts squad.
