Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos set to sign long-term deal at Ibrox

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is about to sign a new contract at Ibrox, as per The Herald and Times Sport.

Morelos has only a year left on his present deal, but Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made it clear that the striker is poised to sign a new contract at the club.

Talks are ongoing over a new deal at the moment, and the Scottish newspaper reported on their online version on 25 July that Morelos will sign a long-term deal.

This has been a fantastic transfer window for the Gers, although they lost two of their key players in Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey.

Van Bronckhorst has made smart additions, and the club have made as many as seven new signings.

The Bears did well to secure the services of key players like Connor Goldson and Steven Davis.

However, Morelos signing a new deal at the club would be massive for the Glasgow giants.

Ryan Kent is another player who has only a year left on his present deal.

Morelos has been a prolific goalscorer, and he has already managed over 100 goals for the club.

The Colombian probably understands that not many clubs are looking to sign him this summer, but the situation could change easily the following year.

Rangers are planning to tie him down on a long-term deal, as it will give them the advantage to demand a massive transfer that they can re-invest into the squad.

In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson now has names lined up just in case Alfredo Morelos seals his exit this summer
