Rangers have successfully built a strong squad with enough depth that they equipped to deal with the struggles of the upcoming season.
There have been some costly departures that the club will miss in the long run in Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo, but these both brought in substantial transfer fees and the club made a significant profit on both players.
The club have recruited smartly, and now have a strong squad with able deputies in every position prepared for a difficult season.
Prepared in every position
Their defence was strengthened early in the window when integral defender Connor Goldson ended transfer speculation surrounding him and signed a new four-year deal at the club.
The loss of Bassey to Ajax was a big blow for the club, but the £22m that was recouped in that transfer has been used to replace the Nigerian with Turkish international Ridvan Yilmaz, who is on his way to the club, as well as Liverpool’s Ben Davies.
The Gers have also managed to keep hold of Glen Kamara so far, as well as veteran midfielder Steven Davis, who signed a new one-year deal at the club.
In the attack, the Europa League finalists have been very busy adding firepower and different dimensions to their attack.
The attacking trio of Ryan Kent, Fashion Sakala and Scott Wright have been boosted by the likes of Tom Lawrence from Derby and Rabbi Matondo from Schalke, both of which have already scored for the club in pre-season.
The talismanic Colombian, Alfredo Morelos, remains at the club, while they have added Croatian international Antonio Colak, who scored his first Rangers goal against Tottenham in a friendly on 24 July, to their striker ranks.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the Rangers board should be happy with their transfer business as they approach the new season.
