Kenny Miller 'really excited' about Rangers new signing Tom Lawrence

Kenny Miller is “really excited” about Rangers new signing Tom Lawrence.

Writing in his column for The Daily Record (24 July), the Gers legend has said that Lawrence can bring goals to the side.

He adds that the 28-year-old forward is a “constant threat” and that he is a “real quality”.

“Both teams have strengthened in the areas we expected them to. But the one player I’m really excited about is Tom Lawrence at Rangers. What he adds is goals. He’s a constant threat and he has real quality,” wrote Miller.

“He’s hungry to score from midfield and that’s what was missing from Gio’s side last season. They can’t just rely on the central strikers, whether it’s Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe or Antonio Colak.

“Lawrence has already shown what he can do with his goal against West Ham last week. Rangers haven’t had someone like that, who arrives in the box late to score, for a long time. Lawrence wants goals and he could be a difference maker this season.

“That’s something Gio has addressed by signing him, as well as Rabbi Matondo on the right flank. With Matondo, Lawrence, Ryan Kent and Morelos as a front four, there’s plenty of goals in there.”

Rangers have almost completed their summer business, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been able to bring the players of his choice.

He has added depth in defence and forward line, and sold players at high transfer fees.

Of course, losing Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo are big losses, but the Bears have been able to replenish the void.

The Dutchman has also confirmed that Ridvan Yilmaz is set to join Ibrox and he would be the club’s seventh major signing of the summer.

Lawrence has been a brilliant addition for the club. He had a very good scoring record for Derby Country, and Miller is absolutely spot on here with his assessment.

Rangers have Alfredo Morelos, Antonio Colak, Ryan Kent, Fashion Sakala and Kemar Roofe as players who can add goals.

Lawrence will further add more creativity and goals to the side, and he could make a big difference to the side.

In other Rangers news, the club are under no pressure to sell Glen Kamara this summer.
