Rangers under pressure to sell Kamara amidst transfer interest - report

Rangers will be under no pressure to sell midfielder Glen Kamara with Galatasaray reportedly interested, according to Sky Sports.

The Turkish club reportedly submitted an £8m bid for the 26-year-old [90Min], but Sky Sports have now reported that they did not receive an offer from the Turkish giants.

However, it has been revealed that the Gers are aware of interest in the Finland international but are under no pressure to sell.

The report says: “Despite reports, Sky Sports can confirm Rangers have not received a bid for midfielder Glen Kamara.

“It was reported that Turkish side Galatasaray had submitted an offer of around £8m for the Finnish international, who is under contract at Ibrox until the summer of 2025.

“While it is understood Rangers are aware of interest in Kamara from various clubs, they are under no pressure to sell the 26-year-old.”

No pressure to sell

It is clear to see why the Gers are desperate to keep hold of Kamara, who has become an integral part of the squad in recent seasons.

The combative midfielder came through the Arsenal youth ranks before leaving them permanently and joining Dundee in July 2017.

After adapting to Scottish football, he ended his two-year stay at Dens Park in January 2019 when he secured a move to Ibrox.

He has since gone on to make 158 appearances for the Gers, scoring eight times and providing 10 assists.

Kamara has also established himself as an important member of the Finland national team, making 46 appearances for his country since debuting for them in 2017.

With Rangers already losing a key member of their midfield in Joe Aribo earlier in the window, they will be desperate to keep hold of Kamara.

In other Rangers news, the club are preparing the contract for incoming Ben Davies.
