Rangers forward Fashion Sakala wants to stay at Ibrox
Rangers forward Fashion Sakala doesn’t want to leave Ibrox this summer, according to Football Scotland.
The website reported on 21 July that the Glasgow giants are equally unwilling to let the forward leave.
La Liga clubs Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad have asked about the attacker this month, but the 25-year-old wants to stay in Scotland and fight for his place.
Sakala did well last season under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and he is expected to get more chances this season if he keeps on improving.
Blessed with raw pace, Sakala has the ability to deliver in big games, but there are some aspects of his game that he needs to work upon.
In European games last season, Sakala struggled to make an impact. He needs to develop other qualities in his game to become an archetype modern-day forward.
He scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions from 50 appearances last season, although he started in only 15 games last season.
This is something he will look to improve next season. He wants to fight for his place, and Van Bronckhorst will be pleased by this attitude.
Rangers have added depth in their forward department this summer, while the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos still remain at the club.
Sakala could drop down the pecking order, but he appears to have taken it as a challenge.
