Done deal: Rangers agree terms for Colombian exit as Juan Alegria joins Falkirk on loan
Rangers have confirmed the departure of Colombian forward Juan Alegria on a season-long loan deal to Scottish League One side Falkirk.
The Gers have inserted a recall clause into the 20-year-old’s deal with Falkirk.
His move is still subject to Scottish FA clearance and he will not feature in Falkirk’s fixture against Bonnyrigg Rose on Wednesday evening (20 July).
Big loan
This is an important loan move for the youngster to really give himself the best chance of success at Ibrox in the coming years.
The striker is yet to feature for the Gers’ first team after his arrival from Finnish side FC Honka in August 2021.

He scored three goals for the Finnish side in the Veikkausliiga in the 2020/21 season but failed to score for Partick Thistle during the second half of the 2021/22 season whilst he was on loan at the Scottish Championship side.
After failing to make an impact in Scotland’s second tier, it is crucial that the 20-year-old hits the ground running for Falkirk in the division below.
If he fails to make an impact then Alegria could well join a long list of Rangers youth talent that has failed to make an impression on the Rangers’ first team.
Alegria certainly has big footsteps to follow with his compatriot Alfredo Morelos a huge becoming a fan favourite at Ibrox.
It is good the youngster is experiencing first-team football at a young age.
If he remained in the Ibrox youth and B-team system for too long he would really struggle to adapt to first-team football when given the chance.
Let’s hope his move to Falkirk is finally a success story from the Gers academy.
In other Rangers news, Celtic and the Gers are at loggerheads over a record-breaking SPFL midfielder and a bid for him has already been tabled.
