Rangers make transfer decision after winger Thompson Ishaka impresses coaches

Rangers have reportedly decided against making a move for Nigerian winger Thompson Ishaka after he had a trial at the club.

According to All Nigeria Soccer, Gers’ fans as well as coaches were impressed with the 17-year-old’s displays on trial during pre-season.

However, contract talks have not taken place as he’s still a minor and there are a number of European clubs that are likely to make a move for him once he turns 18.

Makes sense

Ishaka has dazzled supporters with his displays in pre-season and there have been clips doing their rounds on social media as well.

Gers are known to discover rising talent at an early age and they have done the same with the Nigerian and given him a chance to prove his worth.

However, if some of Europe’s richer clubs come in with an offer, he will find it hard to turn them down and would waste Rangers’ time.

There surely would’ve been conversations with him about the sort of clubs that were looking to sign him and what his plans for the future are.

If they do feel the market cooling for him once he turns 18, we will not be surprised to see Gers rekindling an interest in signing the attacker.

He would be a terrific addition to the B team and within a few years, would be ready to knock on the manager’s door for a first-team berth.

In other Rangers news, Celtic and the Gers are at loggerheads over a record-breaking SPFL midfielder and a bid for him has already been tabled.
