Ben Davies to head to Glasgow in days to finalise personal term talks to seal Rangers transfer

Ben Davies will head to Glasgow within days for talks with Rangers over personal terms within days, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [18 July, pg. 46] that the Bears are set to complete the signing of the Liverpool defender for £3million and £1million in add-ons.

With Calvin Bassey on the way out of Ibrox to join Ajax, Ross Wilson has moved very quickly to get a deal done for a replacement as soon as possible.

Writing in his latest snippet for the Daily Record, Fraser Wilson shared the latest coming from Ibrox with a move seemingly very close now.

“A portion of that will be spent on Davies who spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, making 23 appearances,” he wrote.

“A £4m fee – with £3m up front has been agreed and Davies will head north to talk personal terms in the coming days.”

Imminent.

With the fee agreed, it is all down to Rangers and Davies to finalise this transfer.

The 26-year-old will no doubt be buzzing to get going at Ibrox, given that he hasn’t frequently played for a permanent club since his Preston exit.

A chance to move to Liverpool was too good to turn down, but he wasn’t given the chance after covering injuries and was instead loaned out to Sheffield United.

To go from that to the chance of playing Champions League football and competing for all pieces of domestic silverware is a brilliant opportunity.

After Celtic failed to get a move over the line for Davies, he will now line up for the right Glasgow side and will push them towards glory in yet another year.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson have moved quickly, and they are set to get their rewards.

In other Rangers news, the Bears are set to have funds released for major new transfer activity with one exit now done
