Rangers to have funds released for transfers as Joe Aribo exit talks continue - Chris Jack

Rangers are set to have funds released to go on a major new transfer blitz, according to Chris Jack.

The reliable journalist shared the news with Joe Aribo closing in on a move to Southampton this week that will be worth at least £10million to Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Ross Wilson could then kickstart his summer business at Ibrox, with a move for PAOK forward Antonio Colak already nearing completion this week.

Writing in his latest column for the Glasgow Evening Times, Jack shared what could happen next should Aribo eventually get this exit sorted.

“Now he is poised to earn a dream switch to the Premier League as Southampton aim to fend off competition to land one of Van Bronckhorst’s prized assets sooner rather than later,” he wrote.

“The Dutchman has only added John Souttar to his squad so far this summer but a deal to sign striker Antonio Colak from PAOK is nearing completion and the sale of Aribo will release further funds as Rangers bid to strengthen ahead of the new Premiership campaign and their crack at the Champions League this term.”

Unfortunately, that is all football is now and we need to realise that as we prepare to wave goodbye to one of our best in the coming days.

We knew this was possible this summer, with Aribo as well as Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent entering the final year of their contracts at Ibrox.

The decision is being made to cash in on the Nigerian which will now make money available, but it all depends on how we spend that to see if it is worth it.

We have full faith in Wilson to replace Aribo effectively, and once the deal for Colak is finally complete, he will be going all out to bring in another option in attacking midfield.

Ianis Hagi will return from his injury soon, but we need another big name in the heart of midfield with huge Champions League qualifiers ahead.

Here we go, our business is set to kick on now.

In other Rangers news, scouts at Ibrox are said to have watched this ‘immense’ powerhouse numerous times ahead of a potential major transfer
