Calvin Bassey jets into London as Rangers exit talks continue this week

Calvin Bassey jetted out of Glasgow late on Friday evening (15 July) as talks over his exit continued, according to Rangers News.

The online source has reported on their website that the Nigerian international made the trip down to London as Ajax and Brighton continue to look into a potential deal.

It comes after the Daily Mail reported that both clubs had offered Rangers money that would break their current player sale record this week.

Ajax were said to have offered £19million plus add-ons.

Unfortunately for them, it is reported that the Ibrox board waved that away and all other offers, with the asking price £25million and maybe even above.

Ryan Taylor of the Express has now even reported that an auction is being welcomed by the Bears, and it could take that end price well above £25million.

Speeding up.

With Bassey now making his move out of Glasgow to go down to London, you would think that things are moving forward now.

It is very hard to admit, but an exit is now most likely the only outcome of this entire saga as we continue further and further into the window.

Ajax are offering the most money it seems, but if they don’t push to our asking price, he won’t be going there.

Premier League clubs have the most money, and they often throw it about without a caution to the wind either, so that could be his most likely destination.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will continue to monitor his squad, and it will be interesting to see if a replacement is brought in, or if Borna Barisic is trusted to nail down that spot again.

We are about to bring in another huge transfer fee following Nathan Patterson and Joe Aribo in recent windows, let’s make some big moves of our own.

In other Rangers news, the Bears are set to have funds released for major new transfer activity with one exit now done
