Rangers have tabled two bids for Angers maestro Angelo Fulgini

Rangers have tabled two bids to sign Angers attacking midfielder Angelo Fulgini, according to the Daily Record on Monday (11 July).

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [11 July, pg. 46] that the Bears have unfortunately seen both of those offers knocked back by the French side.

With Bundesliga club Mainz also in the race for the 25-year-old, it is shared that Angers are currently looking for £6million to part ways with Fulgini.

Writing in their latest print edition, the Daily Record shared the news coming from Ibrox as Ross Wilson really starts to head into overdrive this week.

“The Ibrox club face a fight to land Angers attacking midfielder Angelo Fulgini,” they wrote.

“The 25-year-old is being chased by Bundesliga outfit Mainz, with Rangers already seeing two bids knocked back. Angers are thought to be wanting up to £6m for the playmaker.”

This could be the marquee signing of the summer.

Rangers have funds available after selling Joe Aribo to Southampton, and although Antonio Colak and the incoming Rabbi Matondo are both set to cost millions, there is much room left over.

Aribo is said to have cost Southampton up to £10million, so if Wilson wants to make a statement signing in attacking midfield, it looks as though he may have to cough up most of that for Fulgini.

With Matondo set to join fellow Welshman Tom Lawrence at Ibrox, that is out wide sorted, leaving just the hole left by Aribo for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to fill.

Once that deal for Matondo is done as expected, it will be interesting to see if the Bears set up their interest in Fulgini with another bid – they now know what they will likely have to pay.

Time to step up, pay the cash and get the man.
