Rangers very interested in Angers star Angelo Fulgini, £6m asking price could be stumbling block

Rangers are very interested in signing Angers attacking midfielder Angelo Fulgini, according to The Fourth Official on Friday evening (08 July).

The reliable online outlet shared that sources have “confirmed” that the Bears could find the £6million asking price a real stumbling block, and won’t expect to pay that much.

That is because Fulgini is going into the final year of his contract in France, although the maestro described as “one of the best” nearly went for double that asking price back in January.

Writing on their official Patreon page, the Fourth Official shared the latest as Ross Wilson looks to continue his transfer blitz at Ibrox this month.

“Let’s now get to Angelo Fulgini. Reports from France indicate that an offer has been made for the midfielder,” they wrote.

“A couple of my sources confirmed that Rangers are definitely interested but the transfer fee is going to be a stumbling block. Rangers will not expect to spend too much on someone who is in the final 12 months of his contract.

“Fulgini is an attacking midfielder and it seems that he is even more creative than Lawrence. Apparently, he is one of the best when it comes to take ons and that should really excite the Rangers fans.

“However, Angers will probably hold out for £6m. He almost went for double that in January, so the negotiations will be very interesting.”

Perfect.

Wow, now this sounds like the perfect replacement for Joe Aribo.

Should Fulgini follow the likes of Tom Lawrence to Ibrox this summer, it would leave the Welsh international as an out-and-out winger and mean that the attacking third is looking complete.

Nabil Djellit reported late on Friday evening (08 July) that an offer was on the table for the former French youth international, with Bundesliga side Mainz also in the running.

With money set to be available to Giovanni van Bronckhorst once the sale of Joe Aribo is confirmed, it would be foolish of the Bears not to go all out to get this one done.

Fulgini is said to be one of the best at taking players on, something that can make him a real asset in tight areas when clubs sit back in the Scottish Premiership.

With the Champions League also on the line, it is critical that we make another marquee signing ahead of those qualifiers getting underway next month.

Is Fulgini that man? Time will tell.
