Now in an interview with Sky Sports, Goldson has opened up about the transfer saga and revealed his happiness at the new deal.

He said: “I said all along that it wasn’t like I was running my contract down to move, I just needed time to think about it.

“I went away for a week with my family in the summer, spoke about it with my wife and a decision was made in a few days that I was going to sign for Rangers.

“A lot of things got blown out of proportion last year. I have always been happy footballing-wise, it is a great club to be at footballing-wise.

“I love the feeling of having to win and the pressure that is demanded by the fans. I am happy with the decision that has been made.”

Great news for Rangers fans

Goldson penning a new four-year deal to stay at Ibrox is great news for Rangers fans, and the club going forward.
