Rangers want to sign £5.9m-rated midfielder Fulgini but face competition from Mainz

Rangers have made a move to sign Angers SCO midfielder Angelo Fulgini, according to France Football journalist Nabil Djellit.

The Bears have been in the market to sign players to strengthen the attacking front ahead of the next campaign.

For this purpose, they’ve made their move and tabled an offer for the 25-year-old but are facing competition from Bundesliga club Mainz.

Djellit further stated that the Ligue 1 outfit will be ready to let the French U21 international for a fee in the region of £5.9million.

Important Midfield Addition

Rangers had a lot of problems in the midfield last summer where Ianis Hagi’s injury took out the entire creativity from the middle of the part.

As they prepare for the Champions League third-round qualifiers on July 18, the Gers cannot expect to get away with a makeshift midfield and defence this time around.

Champions League is the most prestigious club football competition on the planet and taking part in it has its monetary benefit as well and therefore, Rangers management must ensure that the manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has the best available talent at his disposal.

With Hagi almost certain not to return before the start of the next year, it is important that they sign another player with similar characteristics and it seems that Fulgini fits that profile perfectly.

In the previous campaign, Fulgini played 36 matches for his current club in the Ligue 1 where he managed to score five goals and provided four assists [Transfermarkt].

In other Rangers news, the Gers are lining up a move to sign a midfield sensation who’s also been watched by Bayern Munich.
