New Rangers signings 'likely' to flood into Ibrox after Joe Aribo exit

More Rangers signings are “likely” after Joe Aribo’s Ibrox departure grows closer according to The Daily Mail.

Sky Sports reported on Thursday 6 July that the 25-year-old Nigerian international is set to complete a move to Southampton.

Rangers have reacted by confirming the signing of PAOK forward Antonio Colak.

Furthermore, The Daily Record has reported (7 July) that Rangers are set to announce the signing of former Derby County captain Tom Lawrence.

It has also been revealed by The Daily Mail on Friday 8 July that “more signings” are “likely to follow” after the club are set to receive a potential £10million for Aribo.

Kickstart

It feels as if Aribo’s imminent Ibrox departure has somewhat kickstarted Giovanni van Bronckhorst into action after waiting a long time to get his summer business underway.

Focussing on attacking additions has to be the priority this summer with the Gers set to lose some of their best offensive talent.

The club have done well to secure a good fee for Aribo.

£10million for a player in the final year of his contract is good business, regardless of one of the Gers star man leaving the club.

It is good to see the club act quickly to replace the Nigerian international, with Colak’s arrival finally being confirmed.

Furthermore, Lawrence will be a superb addition at Ibrox, with the former Derby man one of the best Championship playmakers over a long period of time.

The Gers were clearly waiting for the future of Aribo to be decided before making moves in the market and with Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos potentially leaving the club, it would not be a shock to see the Rangers boss become extremely active in the market in the coming weeks.

In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
