Rangers prepare to confirm new signing of Antonio Colak, medical done on Wednesday

Rangers are now preparing to confirm the major new signing of PAOK forward Antonio Colak, according to Chris Jack.

The reliable journalist shared that the Croatian international jetted into the United Kingdom on Wednesday and underwent his medical tests soon after.

With that out of the way, it looks as though Colak will soon be announced as the first major arrival of the summer window, as Joe Aribo prepares to go the other way.

Writing in his latest column for the Glasgow Evening Times, Jack shared the latest regarding the move that has dragged on for far too long in recent weeks.

“The sale of Aribo, who had entered the final year of his Ibrox contract, comes as Rangers prepare to confirm the arrival of striker Antonio Colak from Greek side PAOK,” he wrote.

“Colak underwent a medical after flying into the UK from PAOK’s summer camp in Holland on Wednesday and will now finalise his £1.8million move to Ibrox.”

This is what Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been waiting for.

PAOK have been awful to negotiate with, and even though terms and fees have been agreed for weeks now, they have held the player himself back from actually making the switch.

Colak is now in town and his medical is done, so it would be no surprise if he was already on his way to the Algarve to join up with the squad in their pre-season camp.

That then leaves the only hurdle left pressing the publish button on that announcement, something that will be followed by huge sighs of relief by everyone involved.

Hopefully, with the money from Aribo coming in, the rest of our dealings this summer will be much less stress-free as we look to strengthen the squad for the season ahead.

Colak is our man, and unless any last-second hurdles appear, we will be seeing him in that blue shirt very soon.
