PAOK include 15 per cent sell-on clause as Rangers set to sign Antonio Colak

PAOK have reportedly included a 15 per cent sell-on clause in the Rangers deal as they look to sign striker Antonio Colak.

According to Sportime journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, the 28-year-old has already left his club’s camp in the Netherlands to finalise his move to Ibrox.

Earlier negotiations have always been over the transfer fee, but the Greek side have now entered the clause into the deal at the last minute.

He wrote on Twitter, “Antonio Colak left PAOK camp in Netherlands for Scotland to finalize his transfer to Rangers.
€2,5m. plus €500k add ons plus 15% sell on clause deal.”

Fair enough?

Signing a 28-year-old already means that the buying club are not expecting any financial return on their investment.

He will be at his best for the next three or maybe four years after which Rangers will be lucky if they get any transfer fee for his services.

PAOK have certainly waited until everything is finalised before putting in their final condition, playing the Scottish side in the bargain.

They knew that both Gers and Giovanni van Bronckhorst were desperate to sign the Croatian striker and now they’re not going to call off the deal because of the sell-on clause.

Regardless, it finally seems like they have got their man and Ross Wilson will be relieved as this one dragged on longer than it should have.

It’s now time to move on to alternate targets and get those deals done sooner rather than later.

In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
