Rangers losing workhorse Glen Kamara will be devastating blow after successful campaign

Rangers star midfielder Glen Kamara has been attracting interest a number of clubs in the ongoing transfer window, according to 90min.

One of the clubs extremely keen on the 26-year-old is Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls have already lost Yves Bissouma to Tottenham Hotspur this summer and they are looking to find the right replacement for the player.

Other than them, German clubs RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are also said to be keen on making a move for Kamara after going up against him in the Europa League last season.

The Finland international has three years left on his current deal at the Ibrox stadium and is valued at around £5.40 million, as per Transfermarkt.

If two words would best Kamara as a footballer, those would be tenacious and silky. The Finland international can run for days and was one of the big reasons behind the memorable season for the Rangers in the 2021-22 campaign.

Considering the deficiencies the Gers had in midfield and attack, it was Kamara who kept the midfield together.

In the recently concluded season, the midfielder played 52 matches across all competitions where he managed to score four goals and provided five assists. He started 79% of the matches and played 74% of the overall minutes for the club [Transfermarkt].

Those performances did not go unnoticed and it is no surprise that two of the three clubs chasing Kamara are the ones against whom he produced outstanding performances in the Europa League next season.

Losing him ahead of the next campaign will be a devastating blow for Rangers and as hard as it may sound, the club’s top-tier management should do all they can to ensure that the important players will be at the club come the next season.

This would be a devastating blow to lose him.

In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
