Data analyst makes £5.5m claim as Rangers submit another bid to sign Antonio Colak

Antonio Colak reportedly has a replacement value of £5.5million at Rangers which means that club will not be spending more than that on his replacement.

According to FC Twente data analyst Joost van der Leij, if the transfer goes ahead, his value is expected to be closer to that mark and what Gers will look to spend on replacing him.

Greek journalist Georgios Sideridis recently reported that the Gers have tabled a bid for the £2.1million-valued 28-year-old PAOK striker.

Avoid this move

The Greek side appear to be playing hardball with Rangers over the striker and it’s best if the Scottish side end their interest in him.

Signing a striker is a priority but it’s equally important for them to get the right player over the line and not just someone who’ll add to the numbers.

His goal-scoring record is also far from impressive at the domestic level and he may not be the best fit in terms of his attributes.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is better off looking at alternatives to the Croatia international this summer and keeping him as a backup in case other moves fall through.

It’s also important the club sorts out the future of Alfredo Morelos sooner rather than later as this current situation is not really helping anyone.

They also need to move quickly as Celtic have already signed players and they’ve already got a lead over them in terms of their budget which comes with Champions League qualification.

In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
