Nottingham Forest linked but yet to table bid for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos

Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos this summer.

According to 90Min, no offer has been tabled for the 26-year-old Colombian amid growing interest from Sevilla and Turkey.

A number of other Premier League clubs have also been linked with him, but thus far they have not put forth any bid for him.

It’s understood that if contract talks with Gers fail, they will be open to selling him this summer as his contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Surely not Forest?

Forest may be a big name historically but they’ve only gotten promoted to the Premier League and are now keen on one of Rangers’ best players.

Gers play in Europe and challenge for the league every year while the Tricky Trees may not even be in the English top flight next season.

The gulf in quality between the two clubs is vast and even though they will be receiving a financial boost this summer, Morelos is unlikely to consider a move there.

The hope is that Ross Wilson and Giovanni van Bronckhorst can convince the Colombian to stay put at Ibrox for the foreseeable future.

However, that is easier said than done as he could be having loftier ambitions that he does not see realising at Ibrox.

Only time will tell whether or not the 26-year-old will be donning the famous blue stripes next season.

In other Rangers news, contract talks with a key player have hit a new impasse with a summer exit now on the cards.
